The gps forecast was inaccurate to what the weather was going to do. We left camp to check out another lake we haven’t been on before and then the clouds thickened and got darker. Then thunder came, so we pulled onto shore at the first spot that looked safe. Lightning struck on the other side of the lake the second we pulled the canoe out. So we took shelter and waited.

. We only saw a couple other trippers, usually while portaging, on what is deemed the most popular area of Killarney PP. The bad weather worked in our favor and left many sites cancelled. And we had loons get so close we could watch them dart under water beneath us. Truly a remarkable experience. This was our third trip in KPP, and probably not the last.
