Back again

Hi again.
It's been a long time since I've been here and was very happy to see the forum still going.
As I prepare to turn my business over a little at a time and find myself with blocks of free time, I have been itching to get in more canoe camping. The 2-3 trips a year I do is just not cutting it.
Based primarily out of Wisconsin, I have plenty of opportunities, especially being fairly close to the UP.
So when I'm not out backpacking or traveling in my off road teardrop exploring new places, I return to my true love, canoe camping.

Welcome back to the forum and congratulations on transitioning away from being tied so heavily to the business!

Yes, added location. I'm finding this forum to be vastly different than when I took that long break. I really like it.
Just like my backpacking and other forums, I'm looking for like-minded people. I like to do trips and it's always nice to open a few up to meeting up with others.

Welcome back. The longer I work the more I realize just how over-rated work is. Congrats on being able to transition away from the grind.

I built this company a few years ago as a "prt time gig" but within 13 months, it exploded. At that time, my son was finishing up college and helping me. He loved the business so I gave him half of it.
The rest of the time, I'm really just helping him set up the last few big accounts and getting his staff all trained and settled in. I don't work a full 8 hour day for the past few years. More like 2-4. Then I'd like to retire fully before I'm 60. I'd like to do it just a little earlier actually.
But my wife and I find nice blocks of time perfect for smaller trips (under 7 days) and occasionally do ones in the 9-10 day range.

It's been a lot of work to get here. So I really want to get out more.

I don't know when you were last here, but we migrated the entire site to a completely new and far superior software platform, Xenforo, in August 2021. Since then, we have doubled our membership, rearranged the forums, added some new forums, and increased the quantity and variety of our posts.
