Almost lost my canoe transporter, but thank God the tree just missed my truck.
I have a dry creek behind my house that I really wanted to put in and paddle around. I have done it before after a lot of rain, but I had too much to clean up.Beryl missed us down in my part of the South, and we could have used the rain.
Did anyone get in any whitewater "hurricane runs" on those small flashy creeks that can only be run after a big rain?
Yea, I didn't even think about that. I had it off my driveway in about 3 hours. No telling how long it would have taken for my insurance to get someone out. The main thing was getting my driveway clear so we could drive out. I've just been taking my time to clear the rest. Over the weekend I built a fire at the base were it uprooted trying to burn those roots out so that I can get rid of that heap in my yard.Since the tree fell on your driveway, see if you can get your homeowner insurance to pay for something. They may refuse, but lots of folks don't think about contacting their home insurance carrier about downed trees.
The local brook under immediately post-Beryl skies, and two days post-Beryl as they let all the water at Wilder dam flow down to Long Island Sound. My boats aren't going anywhere without car topping for a bit.I have a dry creek behind my house that I really wanted to put in and paddle around.
