Tough to find locally, went with MOC yesterday to thrift shops but how lucky can one be?
I know some are on EBay but I thought if anyone here was looking to sell one or two I am interested in it and I would rather buy it from a member here instead of a stranger. Thanks
I'll give it a few weeks then try eBay.

I assume you want a frying pan that the handle stays cool when you are cooking with it. If this is the case buy a frying pan with a stainless steel handle attached to the pan. Stainless steel is a poor conductor of heat so the handles stays cool when the pan is hot. Most stores that sell cookware will have something with a stainless handle at various prices and sizes. Some outdoor have pans with fold able handles and generally they are stainless handles as well - usually light weight, easy to carry.

Bob owns a cooking utensil store.. Irresistible.. He knows cookware.. I have a little blue enamel frypan that is so cute but about one pancake size.. I have ..um.. too many cold handle modern pans.

I am waiting however for him to stock camping cookware with bail handles.

I have 3 different sizes of Acme pans that were my grandfathers, the largest is probably 10". They get used on a regular basis, there's nothing like fried eggs in a cold handle. I use them and think about how many deer hunts he took them on!

I see Acme ones on eBay all the time. I don't think that other than serious pitting that there is much you can't clean up.

Tell me about it, big brother, big sister, and the whole clan are watching. You can manage your privacy settings in Chrome, it may help. IE and Firefox probably have similar settings. Anyway back to the Frying pans, Coldfeet needs some Cold Handles. What condition is acceptable? Some of them on Ebay seem to have rust inside the business end.

Rust is ok, try to avoid this, a $10 ebay pan with a crack. tThey crack where the handle meets the pan, My go to camping frying pan has a crack on both sides there, probably from being stuffed in a pack on canoe trips.

You can remove rust with vinegar and an abrasive pad or fine sand paper. There might be better ways so chime in.

Try not to get a warped one where the bottom of the pan is wavy. Not the end of the world but flat is better. I guess you can ask the seller on ebay if it's warped.
A pour spout on one side is nice but also not a deal breaker.

I have seasoned mine but the one I use in the house every morning for eggs needs some oil to prevent the eggs from sticking. If the eggs stick I put some water in the pan and put it back on the cooling electric burner and it softens the eggs. Scrub it clean with water and soft brush/scotchbrite. Then I wipe it with a coat of oil and place it back on the stove for a minute.
These things where made for wood stoves in a canvas tent.

I was eyeing a cold handle fry pan this summer in a flea market. It must've been a knockoff as I couldn't find any obvious manufacturer's marks. The real turnoff was the really warped bottom. It was almost a heavily wavy pan/bowl, it was so bad. Not sure if that could be flattened, and I didn't feel like a fry pan project, so I walked away.
I'm not entirely happy with no-stick camping fry pans with folding handles. The no-stick stuff is always suspect, though I treat it gingerly. I might internet hunt for a real deal cold handle pan.
We gave up on nonstick fry pans at home and just use cast iron ones. A little tlc, oil, and occasional re-treatment. No fuss, no bother. But way too heavy to trip with.

As much I as would like to try one of the cold handle frying pan, finding one up here is hopeless... The one we use and have been using for the last 5-8 years now is a Frybake frying pan. The best tripping pan made!! https://frybake.com
They are expensive( I bought the two we have used) but they sell seconds sometime!! You can use them as an dutch oven, they come with a special lid. they are just a great pan! In one of the video, the guy show how to make the bottom flat again in case it warped... That sold me on them and the fact that you doN,t need to baby them!!

I just want to trip with backcountry cooks who bring in fry pans of any sort.

Oatmeal, grits and instant coffee don’t exactly have me hustling out of the sleeping bag when I hear pots and pans clanging in the morning. I’d even be willing to try some of Brad’s sphincter flaming specialties.

Oh man! That must be real spicy!

Canotrouge - that looks very cool

I am getting a bit hungry here and just sent a post out on bioguides message on wintertrekking about food. Appreciate all the info.

Careful there Mike. I have a weird way of taking things too seriously sometimes. You just may get some mystery mail one day.
And then the mailroom dog sniffing team would all go to hell in a handbasket. A food inspection unit would kick down my door...and your culinary inquisitive neighbours would line up for recipes. We can't have that.
