Hello all,

I want to thank everyone for their input on fishing Wabakimi. Several people had specific recommendations, and mem pointed out they try to keep from catching them. Anyway, I got to see pike slashing at my lure while it was only halfway in the water. Walleye below just about every rapid. As a 'yute I always wanted to catch that trophy 20lb pike. Figured someday I would book an outfitter and get this done. I have done a few trips but the trophy pike never made it to the top - I'll go to my grave with no trophy. But then this happened. Not a 20lb'er through and outfitter, but a 15lb'er I was able to land on a trip of my own making. For me, that's enough.

Beautiful fish! Northerns AKA "Slimers" taste entirely different depending on the waters they come out of. We came to relish them in the Canadian waters, certainly over lake trout, but not so much south of the border where they could taste...well...fishy.
