Trolling motor and wind

Personally, i like paddles with a canoe and probably would never use a trolling motor with a canoe. But, i was wondering how well does a trolling motor help if its windy? I would think it could be somewhat dangerous if the wind caught the canoe just right.
 
I would think that a properly trimmed canoe, with the weight distributed correctly would be fine.
I dread the day, that I can no longer use a paddle! :(

I do concrete work 6 days a week in summer and don't always feel up to a paddle on Sunday and have been thinking of a motor to get out fishing. I could also see having a motor on a trip where wind could be a problem.


I saw these little 35cc, 1.5 hp gas motors that weighed only 18 lbs that looked neat. Check out Island Hopper Outboards if you are interested. Also if anyone knows anything about them let us know.
