The last bullet makes me think the 9/30/20 date should not be part of this communique. The USFS notice only says "until further notice".

I think the Minnesota Governor is being more sensible than the Michigan Governor. Can't imagine there are enough wardens and police officers in MN to enforce a stay at home order that goes past the fishing opener!
Whitmer's very sensible closing of our state has saved many thousands of lives. It may seem fine and dandy your way but we are losing health care worker like flies and thousands of people are dying alone. Hospitals were being over run and very sick people were dying on cots in corners. Wait for the horrors we are about to see from assisted living facilities.
Black fly where did you get the 9/30 date? On the Ottawa National forest page I did not see a date for reopening. I assume opening is up to Whitmer.

Day users may still access Sylvania Backcountry but will not be required to check in at the Sylvania Entrance Station. The Crooked and Clark Lake canoe landings are open but no toilet or water available. The Clark Lake Campground is closed until further notice in 2020. The Clark Lake day use area is open but the pavilion is closed and there is no toilet or water available, pack in pack out trash.
