The St Joseph is unusually low and slow right now. I had a good long paddle on it yesterday in my trusty Merlin II.
I found some evidence of rodents.
Also found some evidence of why I sometimes see charter fishing boats. This particular steelhead is past their expiration date.
Also found an unusual memorial (on a sandbar/island) to a 45 year old man that drowned this past June when the river was about 6 feet higher. I normally don't cross-post on different sites but for this I decided to make an exception. He saved an 8 year old girl.
