2007 Swift Mattawa. Kevlar fusion with integrated carbon-kevlar gunwales. Finished with cherry wood, sliding front seat, kneeling thwart, and contoured yoke. Weighs @ 42 lbs.

Has seen a lot of wilderness tripping and was a great canoe for two people and a week’s worth of gear.

I removed, inspected and revarnished all the wood, no end rot. It has always been stored indoors when not in use.

Canoe is in Manitoba.

$2100.00 CAD

Quick and responsive, the Mattawa is a delight to paddle in all conditions. Through subtle manipulation of the hull shape, John Winters has developed a canoe that is equally at home on flat water or mild white-water. For medium and smaller sized couples or people who need a dual purpose tandem/solo boat, the Mattawa has been a welcome addition to the canoe scene.

I wouldn't say that Christine and I are either medium or small but it was a wonderful tripping boat for the 8 years we used it, taking us around the southern portions of Atikaki Provincial Wilderness Park as far north as Aikens Lake and through the Mothers, WCPP on the western front from Manitoba and Nopoming Provincial Park as well as some of the local rivers, Manigotagan, Rice, Garner, Maskwa.
