Skillet Cornbread

Anyone have a good recipe for fried cornbread (corn dodgers)? I love these when others make them, but mine always suck.

I make this in a skillet, not sure if that's what you mean. It's a great base batter, and highly adaptable.

Here is video on hot water cornbread. I would make a much smaller batch and use lard rather than corn oil. Also - it is a little over detailed as he is making them in his kitchen vs on a skillet in the bush - the principal is the same.

Thanks. That looks good for home cooking, I’m really looking for a camp recipe. I guess powdered eggs and powdered milk could work.

Oh, duh... lol. I almost never cook in the backcountry and tend to forget that others do. Yeah, a reckon powered could work, though I can't say I have tried it.
