Here is video on hot water cornbread. I would make a much smaller batch and use lard rather than corn oil. Also - it is a little over detailed as he is making them in his kitchen vs on a skillet in the bush - the principal is the same.
Oh, duh... lol. I almost never cook in the backcountry and tend to forget that others do. Yeah, a reckon powered could work, though I can't say I have tried it.
