Does anyone happen to have a spare 4" seat truss similar to northstars that they could perhaps trace out on paper and scan it and upload for me, I'd like to build a set myself. I believe my seat is 8.5" on center, but something to use as a template would get me started.

@Thestripper Have you become adept with CAD drafting through work or fun?
I started using AutoCAD over fifteen years ago to get a better grasp on a project I was working on then. I have been drafting since long before that though. CAD can be a great aid in designing and building but it can also just be a stupid waste of time. It's not uncommon to spend days and nights awake trying to get it to do some little thing and for some stupid reason it just doesn't do what you want it to. I had this meme on my wall when I was studying. You've been warned. Acadmeme.jpg

Finally got these trusses oiled and installed into the NorthWind solo, had to wait until i oiled the new gunwales. Originally it had aluminum seat brackets, which I didn't like because i could not change out for kneeling drops or anything else for that matter. The other issue with the brackets rivetted to the hull was the seat was stuck in the canoe essentially; I couldn't get it out until I removed the old aluminum gunwales and stretched the hull apart. Since I was moving to wood gunwales, I decided to remove the brackets and add the seat drops instead, now i can refinish the seat if ever needed.

That's a nice piece of wood! Is it walnut?
You will probably be happier with the wood gunwale over alu which is always so cold to the touch. The seat looks a bit low, or maybe it's just me? Do you use a double bladed paddle?
