I've had these two canoes for a while and I'm finally finishing up on them. The black 18'4" Mad River Lamoille (FG) was given to me by a friend (Coldfeet) and I bought the blue Mad River Explorer kevlar locally.
Both where in need of gunnels and paint, the seats and thwarts where also in need of refinishing but solid.
The kevlar Explorer was a "Special Edition" with nice curved seats and a kneeling thwart (which I didn't put back in at this time) but it had been repaired in the stern section a while ago and it also has some stress cracks. The repair job was done well.
The 18' 4" Lamoille fiberglass is a big heavy canoe, but narrow at 33" at the thwart. It also has a sliding bow seat.
I need to finish the decks and the Explorer needs another coat of paint.
