Posting Pics ?

I guess I need some guidance for posting pics from my Photobucket account.
They must be too big.

Jim,
Photobucket revised their policy regarding third party hosting a month or two ago...from what I've read (I don't use it) they require a yearly payment of $400? to allow such linking. Yeah, it PO'd a lot of people and left many forum threads with dead linked photos.
Google photos, Imgur, Flickr are still free hosting sites that play well with forums.

I'm able, and have been able to post from Photobucket. Beings I paid a small amount for extra storage, years ago, I was Grandfathered in, and for about $60 a year I can still post from PB.

Just here lately since this site was updated, it is restricting picture posting, there is some different requirements, that I'm not up with .

I had a Photobuckect account too but they wanted me to upgrade and I didn't so now I can't share those pics. I have a Google photo account which still works, but for how long? I read that it's expensive and this service will be a thing of the past soon.

The attachment below is the same picture on my lap tops pictures, I used the little camera top left of this reply. You have to click on the pic to see it which is somewhat annoying, but it might be the only way someday. I could be wrong about all of this also.

Hi Jim,

There is a size limit for uploading (1.9MB), so if you use a higher pixel camera, a direct upload won't work ... you need to either resize the photo or use 3rd party posting, I swapped to Google pics, which works pretty well so far.

To post from Google (likely PB as well) I just:
- click on the Google pic, right click and select "Copy Image Location"
- go to the post and "right click" then select "paste" .... this puts that location in the post
- to make the just the picture pop up .... put

at the end

The only trouble, is I can't add text below the pic. Or I'm doing something wrong.
What size pixels do I need. I agree the above pic is large, just need to know what size to type in the boxes.

Jim, all I did -- and this is how I post all pictures I take from the internet -- was to right click on your photo, select "copy photo" (not "copy photo location"), and then paste the picture in the reply box here on CTN.

Because the picture is so big, it's hard to see where your cursor is after you paste the picture. But it should be blinking way down on the bottom right corner, allowing you to write text under the picture. You can press Enter first if you want a space before the text starts.

I'm able to resize the pic, and go to the top and add text, just not below the pic. When I press Enter.



I think I got it after playing around ! Thanks Glen for the encouragement !
