Welcome to site membership, Goatman1!

I know some of our members have large canoes, but we'll just have to see if anyone responds who has that particular model.

Not sure we are quite the right feedback group. That is a work boat and yes some Maine Rangers use them. As its along the lines of a Grand Laker also fishing and hunting guides may use them. I have just seen the ones used by Rangers.
If you need a motorized canoe it seems reasonable for sure.
And modern technology has caught up I guess. There is a Maine version.

If you are near Maine I would give the shop a visit. They have the Scott too.

My little town in interior Alaska has several HB owners. Most of us bought our HBs from Kanoe People in Whitehorse, YT.
For the large rivers like the Yukon River, I usually run a 20HP OB and friends that run the shallower, braided rivers like the Tanana run surface drives.
Many of my friends use their HBs for moose hunting so load carrying is important to us. Gasoline costs in remote villages can be upwards of $8 at this time so fuel efficiency is key.

If not running against strong currents, 20Hp is not needed. My HB with 8HP Yamaha short shaft on high transom HB does 11 mph loaded with 1k pounds.

I had the same canoe but 18 feet. It was a beast, really sad I sold it. I only ran a 3 horse off it, but it got me a lot of places. I was able to car top the 18 footer, I was young.
