I recently noticed when trying to post pictures the site was saying my pictures where to large. I thought it was me, the photo idjiot, but Jim Dodd contacted me today and said he was having the same sort of problem in Photobucket, I'm not using that. Is anyone else have the same problem? Nothing has been changed on the site that I am aware of so this is new. Thanks for any feedback.

I dunno about Photobucket, I haven’t been used that site since they held everyone’s photos ransom for a $400 annual fee. I did pay Flickr their $50 a year demand to host anything more than 1000 photos. I lost posting access to thousands of (captioned) photos in Community Webshots, and thousands more to that Photobucket ransom demand.

I’ll try a test in the (current) usual way; Flickr, BB code sized to 800 x 525. I just need to find a photo Doug will appreciate.

Mike Check Photo bucket again.

And yes, I'm having trouble post from Photobucket to here ! Too Large.

OK, thanks for the feedback. This seems to be a new misbehavior of the site as I had no problems posting pics until recently. I am in the process of trying to find a new IT person to run updates as we are now a couple versions behind and am hoping that will fix this new problem. I will keep folks updated as things progress.

I've often had that happen on the past ever since I joined if my photo exceeded some limit and I've had to re-size them. Something new I see when I come to the site now it a flag at the top of my screen telling me the site isn't secure, don't remember seeing that before a few weeks ago.

I joined in August of 2018. When I access this site with my iMac, there has always been a flag at the top of my screen telling me that the site isn’t secure. This flag never appears when I access the site from my iPad. Go figure.

I have only ever had the "too large" issue when i try and upload a photo directly to a site .... for sites such as this I usually post a link and have never had an issue.

I use Google Photo, but I think this process will work pretty much anywhere:
- open the photo on your photo site
- right click and select "Copy Image Location" (or it's equivalent)
- go back tot he post you are making and position cursor where you want the link
- hit CTRL V (or paste) to drop the link into place
- I have found that some sites (this one for example) require an extra step
- add a [ IMG] to the front of the link and a [ /IMG] to the rear of the link ..... leaving out that space between the "[" and "IMG" parts

This hasn't failed me once in practice .... to make the process a little more streamlined/easier I usually enter the square bracket stuff and position cursor between them, then just drop in the link.

Another check revealed the problem I had posting pics, was with Photobucket !
For some reason, My " recent uploads" aren't showing up in my "bucket" !

Thanks again Doug ! I'll harass Photobucket again !

I didn't do anything but did run into that exact problem recently. Glad it's working again. Regardless I'm still on the search for an IT person to run those danged updates!

More research, and I found that Photobucket placed my pics several pages back.

I'll lay the blame on them !

Obviously I'm not your Person for IT !!! Good luck finding one !

I am again encountering the problem, trying to post photos taken on my iPhone from my Mac. This seems like it is intermittent because I have posted other photos recently without issues.

The error message reads:
Your file of 3.50 MB exceed the limit of 1.91 MB.
For JPEGs, the processed image on the server may have a larger file size than the uploaded file.
Unable to resize image. Your image of 3024 x 4032 exceeds the width and height resize limits of 4808 x 3456.

I've run into this as well and am working on trying to find someone familiar with VBullentin to run updates which can be a long process as I learned from the last time I did this. I am working on this problem.
