My shop is a mess, and I want to organize my paddles (15) in as small a space as possible, yet still easily accessible !

In other words, show me your Rack ! Paddle rack of course !

Jim

15 paddles to organize in one rack, and wanting it in a small space and easy accessible.... Hmmm... Maybe a rack with 5 paddles abreast and 3 deep, organized in style or length... Hmmm... Can't wait to see what you come up with!

I don't have a picture but of all my attempts over the years I like the following the best: Take a piece of 2x4, drill pairs of holes at a 10-15 degree angle, insert dowels, and cover them with pipe insulation.
(You can add additional dowels for PFDs, rope, etc.)

Nothing special, just some metal U shape brakets screwed into a 1x4, it will hold 10 paddles 2 deep

My paddles in the shed are noosed to the wall headers. Nails and rope. We never thought of dowels. Inside the house the holder is a little more fancy

I like the idea of sideways, but I fear the different angled blades might not work, straight verses bent. Hanging by the blade seems good.

Robin, and Yellowcanoe, I may go with long dowels, and double stack.

Thanks guys so far !

My rack is double decked and holds some paddles by the blade and others by the handle, alternating, to make best use of space. Bent shafts hang by the handle (from the lower deck) and straight shafts by the blade (from the upper deck).

This rack can hold 11 paddles and fits in a fairly small area (between my walk-in and overhead doors).

I like both Alan's and BWCA66's.

Like the casters. I have some I can use !
A wall rack like Alan's does save space, and they are easy to get.

Thanks guys ! Maybe I'll make one of each !

Had thought today, to drill pegs at a 45 degree angle, and hang by the grip. Again Thanks !

I don't (yet) have so many paddles to store, but this thread gives some nice ideas. Much better than my "just stack 'em in the corner" solution.
