I recently found a disk with scans of an old Sawyer Canoe catalog, probably a gift from “Sawyer George”. I wanted to make them available, but didn’t know how to do so except as Flickr photos.

This Sawyer Canoe album had 13 “photos” of Sawyer Catalog pages. I have no idea of the year, the classic station wagon may date it.

Boats included:
Sport
Guide Special
Safari
Cruiser
Super
Canadian
Champion
Saber

As well as touring and slalom kayaks, and some 60’s/70’s classic gear and accessories, Sawyer and Clement paddles and Gatsby vests (PFD’s).

Very cool Mike. Thanks for sharing it. Awhile ago I found the receipt for the Sawyer Autumn Mist (solo) that I bought new in '88; $940 with a bent shaft paddle and PDF.

Sawyers were some of the best early canoes. Too bad the Charger is not featured here. My all time favorite boat for overnight trips it is the boat the McGuffins used to traverse Canada.

I like the Sawyer wagon, the tourist tent and the fact that nobody wears a PFD!

Too bad the Charger is not featured here.

The Charger, and other Sawyer catalog canoe pages, are viewable on-line via BWCA.com, thanks I believe to poster Hans Solo.

It would be a wonderful old boat reference if some canoe board had a sub-forum where people could link to scans of early catalogs pages. Most of my canoe company catalogs date, at oldest, to the early 90’s, with a half dozen vintage Mad River color-copied pages, IIRC a gift from a Canoe Tripping contributor.

A more complete on-line repository of early MRC, Wenonah, Old Town, Dagger, Blackhawk and etc catalog pages and specs would be handy as hell. I’d find someone to scan in my older canoe catalogs.

I have a 1982 and a 1999 Wenonah catalog if anyone's interested in these scanned. I've contributed a few old solo scans to BWCA, but there's a lot left.

Mason, I’d love to see Wenonah’s 1982 catalog offerings. Maybe share them on Canoe Tripping for all to see if there is a way to do that
