Colleagues,
Nancy and I use a mix of fresh, home dehydrated, off the grocery store shelf and freeze dried foods on backpacking and canoeing trips.
We often buy bulk freeze dried meat for these trips and use it to pack our meals. Mountain House has had a sale for the last several days on some of their #10 cans and yesterday I ordered a few cans of things that are hard to dehydrate at home.
I just checked back and as of today it looks like they have all their #10 cans at 50% off with free ground shipping. I don't know what if any restrictions they may have or how long this will last but this is a heck of a deal for those who use freeze dried foods.
And for those military nostalgia buffs, if you stroll over to the military packaging page you'll find Creamed Beef at 50% off, too:
Be sure to pass this on to those who might benefit......
Best regards,
Lance
EDIT: I should add that once you open the can you can transfer the food to a canning jar and vacuum seal it and it will keep for years if stored in a cool dark place.

Military Rations
Authentic Meal, Cold Weather (MCW) rations we make for the United States Armed Forces. Formerly known as Long Range Patrol rations or LRP’s (often confused with the military MRE), rarely are these genuine military meals available in the civilian market.
