If I was a waterfowl hunter,I'd check one out, but... Several years ago (early 80's) we used to take teenagers to Algonquin as part of a camping program. One of the adult chaperones bought a 14' Raddison (like a Sports Pal) simply because it was lite, he never test paddled it. All the boys wanted to be in his canoe. Lunch break 1st day, he and his bow man "graciously" offered to let somebody else try it. By the end of the trip, I was rotating kids into it. My wife and I had taken our 17J Grumman and refused to share. We knew how it would handle on open lakes (poorly). Not quite as tough on smaller moving water. It's just too wide for my paddling taste.
