I’ve had the jealous pleasure of reading different threads from Canoe Tripping builders over the years, with photos of their exquisite accent inlaid decks, striking patterns or reproductions of turn-of-the-century end curves that served to identify a specific WC manufacturer.
Decks with scallops, decks with attractive drain holes, decks with some purpose built multi-function; long WW decks with raised wave shedding baffles, or wood deck plates with carry thwart “grab handles” secured below the inwales. Lotta ways to skin that cat.
Those inventive builder’s decks, including everything from wood to vacuum bagged carbon fiber to heat-gun molded Kydex and etc, are buried in the archives amongst hundreds of builds.
How about a show-your-work compilation of DIY decks?
