I’m preparing to recoat the bottom of my Kevlar UL NS Magic. NS has a “kit,” without hardener. I don’t need to by a 4” roller and cover from them. What would you use?

I’d also like to touch up the Swift P14, but need green dye for some gelcoat resin I already have. Swift has changed their colors and doesn’t sell dye, just colored gelcoat resin. Anyone know of the best dye and color selection options? I’m thinking the powder would be preferred opposed to liquid.
Thx

I don't know what you plan to use for coating, but the Varnish grade, 4" Cigar type Foam rollers would be my choice, for application.

There are several colored powder additives for Epoxy out there. That would be my choice.

Mix the resin and hardener first, then add color.
Make sure you mix up enough, to cover what you want, in one batch.
Otherwise you risk a mismatch in color.

Shellac was commonly used on the old wood and canvas canoes on the bottom up to the waterline.
There is a product called "Wetlander" that is commonly used on the bottom of boats top make them slick for sliding over rocks.
It is commonly used on drift boats instead of the traditional Gluvit or other compounds.
Wetlander comes in many colors. It is a 2 part epoxy that could be used on canoes to offer great protection and help slide over rocks.
