In a continuing tradition Conk sent me a care package of canoe outfitting stuff.
Knee bumper and heel pad minicel, in various sizes from 3/16” thick to ½”. Removable yoke clamps. A large box of hardwood wedges/shims. And a massive 7 wick church candle that will become part of another Fire in a Can or wax feeder bricks.
The continuing “tradition” is that it again took four weeks to arrive. The last Conk package also took a month, shipped via USPS, it passed my home twice along the way. This package was hand delivered to a canoe rendezvous in Irvine PA, where it rested for a few days, then transported to Catonville MD, a whopping 30 miles from my home, where it rested for a month.
I call this “Just in time delivery”; just in time for the next derelict canoe rebuild, which is waiting in the wings.
