At a local launch point/bar/canoe & kayak rental that we use a few times a year a woman swimming just had her arm bit off. Every time we are there always wondered why people swim in the water. Always see gators around. Seems like the wild life in some areas are losing there fear of humans through to much contact. Maybe even from feeding.

Have noticed the difference in behavior in deer, turtles, bears, birds, and even gators between heavily used areas and places that I love the best were you rarely see other humans. In the heavy use areas its oh well just another human. In true wilderness oh blank its a human!!! What have you noticed lately?

In my area it's the deer. While the gators may seem more of a concern, having a deer that isn't concerned about your presence can be an issue as well; especially when they walk out at the last minute in front of your truck.

As for the woman in Florida; our news reported that she'd gone off into a quiet place in that pond to have some privacy or be alone; don't know if there's a real difference. If that's the case, then maybe she had become as complacent as animals that get used to people. Obviously I don't know but it does give you pause for thought.

That's all for now. Take care and until next time...be well.

Wekiva Island is surrounded by dark waters and the partygoers there have a habit of throwing food in the water

In this case it may not have been what she did but what others have done before
If you have ever taken out there you might know it's not easy at that particular place to find solitude though the river trip itself is full of birds and song
