A Beary time of year

It seems to be a banner year for bears up here. Coming back from Thunder Bay yesterday, I saw a few, and one sow with four cubs. Very cute, I don't think I have ever seen four cubs before. However, the downside appeared in one of my local online news sources yesterday.

Someone attacked by bear in remote area

One person was taken to hospital after a bear attack on Wednesday in Wabakimi Provincial Park.

I will be up there starting 2 wks from today. After about 14 yrs of trips in the area totaling 25-26 wks I have only seen 1 bear in the bush and it was across a bay and never detected us. Otherwise, the vast majority of wildlife spotted has been on Hwy 527 north from TB to Armstrong.
