    Curtis/Colden/Swift Dragonfly

Greetings, It is with a heavy heart that I will be selling my beautiful Dragonfly (Swift Version) as my knees really cannot take the long periods of kneeling anymore. It is a 2023 expedition kevlar Dragonfly in a special orange metal flake paint that just looks amazing in the light. Weight...

    RockSTAR or SRT?

I love my dragonfly and I loved my SRT before destroying it this past August. Also kneeling is pretty much very difficult for me for any length of time. However I've also learned a few things about myself as well. I'm not a big river tripper, I prefer lakes and ponds (Especially the...

    Solo question

Too bad you live so far away because a Hemlock Kestrel, Peregrine or Eaglet would fit the bill. https://www.hemlockcanoe.com/

    Curtis Nomad dream realized

Congrats on the Nomad! I use to have a fiberglass model and a kevlar Peregrine. I sold the Nomad to a friend and I swapped my 2020 Peregrine for a 2017 model. Why you ask, it shaved a few pounds due to difference in laminates. Anyway you cannot go wrong with either a Nomad or Peregrine IMO. As...

    Photo of the day

Back in June I volunteered with the Northern Forest Canoe Trail in the Adirondacks of New York. We worked on a section of portage trail around the lower locks along the Saranac river.

The Tangerine Dream arrived early! (New Hemlock SRT)

IMO the boat is not repairable. The State of NH and Justin are supposedly going to work to unpin it but have not heard from NH

The Tangerine Dream arrived early! (New Hemlock SRT)

Thank you! The accident was an unexpected situation but as you said I'm glad I was able to free myself. My left leg is still pretty cut up but is healing well. I'm totally sad about the SRT fate it truly was a piece of art. Thank you again for your kind words, cheers!

    Photo of the day

I've barely been out so far this year but back on April 21st I hit the Cohocton river in western New York in my Dragonfly. River twisted and turned, blow downs, swift water, flat water, snow flurries and a tons of fun. I wound up dumping 3 times this day due mostly to operator error. I will say...

Hemlock or North Star Solo's in the Bay Area????

Just joined the party! I have owned a NW Solo (Currently for sale on Hemlock's used page) and it is a very capable boat. I also own a Hemlock Peregrine, Eaglet & SRT..... In my non professional opinion you cannot go wrong with an SRT. My NW Solo was the starlite layup with aluminum trim. I had...

    Hemlock SRT Ordered

IMO the Dragonfly is a kneeling boat. I do know someone who paddles sit and switch in his DF. I just love the boat! It’s fun, it’s rare and quite honestly it is pretty good looking. I’ve often thought about taking it Pond hopping or a short overnight trip in the Adirondacks. The SRT is...
