    Clint and Verlen video

A good video. As a young fella I can remember reading of Verlen Kruger's adventures and dreaming of someday having my own.

    Photo of the day

@Tryin', Nice photo! I see you have a Great Canadian. I can't quite make out the model though. That's a blast from the past. I used to work for GC back when they were located in Sutton, MA. right up till Hans closed the doors.

Trolling with a fly rod for salmon/brook trout

I found this photo from May of 2018. A decent Smallmouth Taken while trolling a streamer. You can see the fly below my fingers.

Trolling with a fly rod for salmon/brook trout

@Robin, I realize this is an old thread and you have probably picked the right gear for you and have caught many, many fish trolling streamers.;) I have caught quite a few salmon and togue using this method. No record breakers though. The Supervisor and the Grey Ghost have worked pretty good...

    Canoe Theft While Traveling

I don't know the type of establishment you will be staying at but if you talked with the staff at the more reputable ones they may, after a certain hour, let you park close to the main entrance under the lights as long as you're not blocking the place for emergency vehicles. We would do this on...

Your canoe trip plans, hopes, dreams for 2022

I have been doing some reading about paddling bogs and swampy areas and have become intrigued by this type of paddling. A small day bag, fishing gear and a decent camera will be all that's needed. Because of their nature these waters are not attractive to most paddlers. A big plus for me. Less...

    Tackle kit/fishing equipment

Remote Beaver Ponds...Great memories of my grandfather driving us out of Ashland down the Realty Rd. He would stop and let us out at a brook with instructions to follow it upstream to the beaver dam and then start fishing. He would wait in the truck and chain smoke cigarettes. My mother would...

    Tackle kit/fishing equipment

We have these here. They have been around since my grandfather introduced them to us when we were kids. They have changed though. They have the big bulbus plastic beads. Heavy monofilament. With the light line, two blades and glass beads the trout just can't let it swim by.

    Maple Sugar

Ok, I gotta admit you got me there. Enjoying a little spill over from the pancakes is one thing but eggs poached in maple syrup seems a little hardcore to me.

There is a special place in hell for people who make that stuff!

    Maple Sugar

 Now that is funny right there! Ooooh man...I respect your opinion, but...when you pour that syrup on the pancakes and some of it "accidently" gets on your eggs and sausage, well, that's like enjoying a little piece of heaven in that roadside breakfast joint.

    Tackle kit/fishing equipment

Another item I will take along are these double bladed spinners I make. Attach a worm or dead minnow to the hook and start trolling. They weigh practically nothing so trying to cast doesn't work well.
