Best canoe dog for wolf protection

I agree with previous sentiments. No dog is going to stand a chance against wolves. If you are worried about them bring a sidearm if you're in the states or a JIC shotgun in Canada. Dogs will make the wolf situation worse.

What to do with the vehicle parked on a long trip?

I was talking about parking in the bush. Did you mean American plates on Canadian soil? Or Non American cars? My car was keyed while parked at Leano Lake. I also had everything in my box taken out and put under the truck another time. Just some minnow buckets and other non valuable things that...

What to do with the vehicle parked on a long trip?

Never ever had an issue. I've even forgotten to lock my doors on more than a few occasions. Once my truck was keyed but I suspect I know who did that. We may have expensive groceries and no restaurants but I always feel good about leaving my vehicle

What is in your solo kitchen kit?

MEC has two Ti sporks. One is $15 and the other is $21. That first spork you have there I highly recommend avoiding. They break way way too easy.

You could fashion an eating utensil quite easily out of a forked stick. I've done this when I have forgotten to bring a fork.

    Stoves

I've switched to alcohol (Trangia) recently with a clikstand from an Optimus Multi-Fuel. I really liked to Optimus but it did fail me on a trip. Fast and easy to control and Naptha has the highest BTU to weight ratio of any fuel. That being said the weight savings on the stove is taken up by...

    Fire in WCPP

vern.dewit Loved the videos. Looked every day for the next episode. This deserves it's own post instead of tagged along to my rambling on about a fire. I stopped or camped at many of the campsites you were at and it brought back memories of them. The Glenn Lake one is epically beautiful and I...

    DIY Rodent-proof Food Bag

What about using a different kind of barrier instead of a physical one. Try a bag of cat hair in a cheesecloth pouch. Or maybe cayenne pepper?
