    Phil Cotton

I learned so much from one of his trips. He certainly had a passion for his project and the canoeing world has lost a true champion. Any word on when the service is?

    Canoe Themed Beer

Of course nut brown ales are yummy. Sleeping Giant brewery has a nice Stout and also a beer called Mr Canoehead. Lake of the Woods Brewery also has a delicious English Nut Brown Ale. Better than their Blueberry Ale in my opinion. I'm getting thirsty and it's only 1:00pm

    Canoe Themed Beer

Another Stout lover! There's not enough of them on the market. Porters too. Best Stout I ever had was called Epicurian Coffee and Fig Imperial Oatmeal Stout. Found a bottle in the liquor store one day and tried it. Went back the next day and bought them out of the last 7 they had. Never seen...

    Canoe Themed Beer

Moosehead makes one called Cracked Canoe, it's a light beer. Very Light, Like sex in a canoe light. But I enjoy it quite a bit in the summer when beer becomes refreshing and drinking 4 or 5 does not make you want to do silly things. https://moosehead.ca/brands/cracked-canoe

    Solar chargers?

The great thing about forums is that shared knowledge allows the whole community to grow. Taking information into the DM/PM world means others can't benefit from your knowledge. Sorry if there is another reason for going private that I missed.

    Ice Out Predictions

Same here, ice is still plenty thick and there is still lots of snow on the lake helping insulate the ice from the sun. Definitely be fishing hard water to the closing April 14th. Can't see the main lake being open for the May long weekend. But, you never know, could turn downright warm for a...

    Fit to be tied

I have some 7/64 stuff and it works great. The zing it also works very well. 1/8" is overkill. The drawback to the finer rope is hard on the hands to pull if you are using it for something other than tying down tarps. Of note is that there is almost zero stretch in the Dyneema type rope, so...

    Warbonnet Ridgerunner

I bought the Black Bird from them directly. It was worth it. I use a foam pad and a piece of refelctix or whatever its called. Got a huge sheet of it from the florist who gets are her bulk flowers delivered wrapped in it during the winter. Why are you chasing the bridge hammock rather than the...

    What are you reading?

My take on Boyden was that he grew up truly believing that his uncle "Indian joe" was native. He self identified as native in a way. If I'm not mistaken his father was born near the turn of the last century and things were a little wishy washy such as Archie Belaney. Boyden's aboriginal identity...

    Describe your seasons and climate

I heard that the wind chill on Mount Washington hit -90 this week. Any colder hell would freeze over and the Leafs would win the cup.
