St. Regis Canoe Area Camping Trip

thx, its called a feather stick or indian match. a sharp blade is pressed against the wood from top to bottom and rotated around with each stroke to make fine curls. Valuable in wet weather conditions when you need dry heartwood to get things going. youtube would have some great tutorials.

St. Regis Canoe Area Camping Trip

Made it out to the St. Regis Canoe Area in the Adirondacks of NY for a few days of camp. Explored some of the ponds off the 7 carries loop around St. Regis Lake. Wish I could have joined the crew at Little Tupper but had to work this week. Hope you are all getting out for an autumn paddle!

    Lila and Stony Creek

Canoe camping with a dog is the absolute best. Funny 90# is a bit much for a lap dog. We camp in a tent and our dog sleeps by our feet but if exhausted right on my legs.. they will go numb quick and he is about 60#

    Lila and Stony Creek

It sure is fun from a canoe and a beautiful little spot! There was a guy out there in a cedar strip stand-up paddle board that he had outfitted to fish for pike. Wish I took a photo to share here.

    Lila and Stony Creek

Spent a few days in the Adirondacks canoing and camping. Hit some heavy winds, rain and bugs but still always a great trip. Just love it up there. Lila was so wind swept and rainy so we mostly chilled in camp. I had hopes of trying to find a lake trout but that'll have to wait for another trip...
