    Deer camp canoe trip

Robin, Thanks for the video. Just recently acquired a tent stove , no chance to put it to the torture test yet. Does your flue damper help much? How much burn time do you get out of a loaded stove. I was thinking about bringing a bag of hardwood charcoal on trips.

Another good reciept but only for dark leather is the old norwegian sailor blend of cod liver oil and pine tar, plus everyone has ingredients around the home.

    Treating leather boots?

Deer tallow for me. Seems to be the most long lasting & waterproof treatment , plus keeps leather supple & increases longevity. Pair off all the back fat slice into small cubes and render it down ,put up in mason jars , refrigerate & it lasts indefinitely.

    anchoring a canoe

Yes Mike ,I've been there the only method to dislodge is to go upstream of the anchor point with enough momentum to free it or cut it off. Jason, thats an interesting rig but as my river canoe is a chestnut voyager wood canvas type I would hate to drill holes in her, but I agree lowering the...

I have been in & operated both double enders & square sterns with gasoline motors and prefer the double enders as it is much more comfortable as there is less craning around ( You can face forward & steer rather than straddel the seat.). Both aluminum & diy wood mounts work well as long as HP is...

yes, the larger baker tents would only be feasible for a base camp that you operated out of for a few days , say for a hunting / fishing expedition. The whelan I mentioned packs very small, is quite light & serviceable while on the move. I utilize my canoe pole as a ridge on occasions I have...
