Great video and photos, I'd love to take a trip like that. That's a cozy looking set up and a beautiful area to spend some time, even if you didn't get much hunting in.
If you're not into sewing you could use FABRIC GLUE and put a rolled hem in it and tack it together with glue. Not sure how it would do holding two pieces of fabric together to make a tent or something but if you just want to roll a hem to keep it from fraying everywhere I'll bet this would work.
I saw some truly astounding loads being carried in Nepal on steep trails at relatively high altitude where I was struggling with just my pack, I'd see people with 4 or 5 full sheets of plywood tied up and tumping them along.
I prefer a tump for carrying my food container, I tried some shoulder straps on it but they're no good, the tump is the way to go for sure with that thing.
Pretty interesting, does look like a fun project to experiment with, as you said, probably not a great tripping solution but fun to play with. Thanks for sharing.
Nice set up Hoop. Do you think 2500# ridge line will be strong enough? Just giving you a hard time :p the 1/8" is definitely easier on the hands than zing-it and the diameter differential helps with the prusiks. Thanks for sharing.
Odyssey with some modification you could turn ONE OF THESE into a simple wannigan but still have the end pieces slide out to make the coveted spice rack and utensil storage.
Very nice!! I've got a wannigan on my short list, I'm just tooling for woodworking as a new hobby, and figured that'd be a good project to do some skill building on. How sturdy is it without any sort of interior framework? Is it epoxied together?
Very cool! My 6 mo old puppy shows little interest in the water or the canoe, but I'm hoping she'll come around soon. Great report, thanks for sharing.
If its in range for you the Manistee River in northern lower Mi is a really nice paddle, all flat water. There are no designated sites on the section I typically paddle but it's mostly state land everywhere so you can pretty much camp where you like. Rick at Chippewa Landing can hook you up with...
Nope, I used two nd filters = to 16.5 stops spot metered a white cloud and over exposed by one stop which turned into a 6 or 8 min exposure (I don't remember which). So the movement is as captured rather than a PS effect.
