    Reflector Ovens

I'm a big fan of the Swedish reflector oven, fits in a blue barrel and is good for 1-2 people depending on what you're making. I've had to make two separate pizzas, one for each of us when that was the main course, but if I'm making cornbread or bannock its perfect for two or more.

    Canoes are "Vessels of Memory"

That was really cool. I can relate as my wooden canoe is our family canoe, my folks got it when I was probably 1 and they gave it to my wife and I for a wedding gift so there are a lot of memories in that old girl.

What have you forgotten on a trip?

On one trip I packed a couple different alcohol stoves to play with but forgot the fuel!! We typically cook over fire anyway so it wasn't a problem. I think on another trip I brought the fuel but no stove.

VIDEO: DIY Coffee Concentrate for Camping

We have a commercial concentrate at work and I quite like it.... especially compared to the sludge people used to make with the grounds. The nice part is that its virtually instant coffee once its made. Put some in your cup add hot water and its ready to drink, no dwell time. Its definitely...

VIDEO: DIY Coffee Concentrate for Camping

This is how I make my coffee these days and what I'll take on my next canoe trip. So far I've only taken it car camping but I have no doubt it will keep just fine for a canoe trip.

Forget about buying canoes, BUY A DEALERSHIP!

How do you make a million dollars in the canoe industry? Wait for it... Start with two. :) :D Sorry I couldn't help myself, that's adapted from what we say about the aviation industry.

Hammock for lounging and lazing, not sleeping

For just lounging a simple gathered end is the ticket, the ridgeline is completely optional, you can buy a tablecloth and make your own hammock for about $10 and there is no sewing involved or anything. I might also add that tree straps would be a good idea too, they at least give the illusion...

    Portage cart help

I have often thought of making a canoe carrier from a GAME CART, it wouldn't be very practical for tripping but moving my canoe from the house to the lake wouldn't be too bad. The linked model would just need some wider cross bars added on the ends then strap the canoe to those.... I think...

    Carry yoke pads??

Thanks for the link, those are some fine looking yokes. I've had a couple of rentals with similar yokes and they're not bad but could benefit from some pad glued to them. Nice, a hybrid approach. Thanks. Thanks for the input. Nice to have some real world feedback about those pads.

    Carry yoke pads??

I like the idea of adjustable width. So many options. The pair of paddles sounds like its worth a try also. I have one beaver tail and one otter tail, I'm going to have a full day just trying all these ideas out. :) I'm sure my neck is not ready for sherpa loads, but I might be able to...
