Show pictures of your tent(s) on a canoe trip

Trying out the new Kodiak tarp. It came in handy for sure when the rain came. Nice gear storage as well.

    Canvas tent question

Quick question while I'm waiting out a rainstorm in ADK. How long can a canvas tent be stored before mold becomes an issue? I have been using canvas tents for years and have been obsessive about not breaking camp until the canvas was bone dry. Unfortunately that is not possible this weekend...

    FS- Old Town Canadienne Kevlar

One owner. Originally purchased directly from the OT factory in 1985 Great condition. Normal scratched from use. I'm guessing this is around 60 pounds. This particular Kevlar weave looks fantastic. This is the 17 foot version Asking 1k. Offers welcome

    Maine Roll-On

I used on of these for a while. I lost it on a back road somewhere in ADK. It popped right out of the bracket. I have never been able to find a replacement. I ended using a piece of PVC as it's replacement. It works great. Just slide it onto your thule or yakima bar.

    Chestnut Prospector Garry

I am thinking about letting my Prospector go. This is the legend when it comes to tripping design. I use this as a solo a majority of the time, but I have done some serious tripping with it. I am the second owner. It was restored it the 80's by Mcgreivey. I purchased this form Hemlock canoe a...

    Snow? — Where You Are

Almost no snow in CNY. I have never seen anything like this. I've seen grass almost all winter. No snowshoeing, ice fishing, skiing, 4 wheel drive. Nothing. It's going to be 60 tomorrow. Very strange.

Not a lot of snow l there Al. Same here for me. I haven't been able to go snowshoeing at all in CNY. I tried going on Tuesday after a little blast of snow, but the trails were still mud. Very strange winter.

Why are wood canvas canoes so nice to paddle

I spent years building a lightweight fleet. All Kevlar or Carbon Fiber. I had no interest in Canoes over 50 pounds. Then, I bought my first W/C canoe. A Chestnut Prospector Garry from Dave Curtis. It is just over 80 pounds. During the first paddle I quickly realized the benefit of heavy canoes...

    Interesting find

I found this on Craigslist a couple weeks ago. I have never seen a motor mount like this before and I probably won't find another so I decided to grab it. I am not a fan of side mounts. I find them unstable and dangerous. I am hoping this will be a better solution. I played around with the...

    Show me your canoe truck

I purchased the cantilever addition for my Thule ladder rack. It extends the rack over the cab. This is the most secure system I have used to date. I have traveled thousands of miles with this set up. Good find!

    Show me your canoe truck

That is my Chestnut Ogilvy "Grilse". 18 feet long with a "vee" stern. It has become my primary canoe. Both tandem and solo. My motor is mounted on a Thule bike rack I've had laying around for years. I grew tired of lifting the motor into the bed and then laying it down on it's side.

    I Can't Lift/Transport My Morris Canoe! . . . or can I?

Canoe cart and a trailer for your vehicle ? Not efficient, but it might help you get that beauty out on the water.
