best truck cap tie down method

I don't work about frame flex on mine as the tires just lift prior to the frame flexing. On the longer 4dr pickups it can be a concern on rough terrain but I have yet to hear about a canoe being damaged due to this. Some very nice Toyotas here!

    Show me your canoe truck

I am so in on this one! Pic was the third day out with my new Nissan Xterra Pro 4x, now with 33 MT Baha Claw's Edit to add a 4x4 link- http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/132219-New-2014-Xterra-Owner-Icedragonmx-s-trip-reports

Canoe Art: Paintings, Sketches, Sculpture, Architecture

My favorite is now an Alaskan Scout in 44mag as far as Canoe guns go... And something more for the classical look to get it back to the "Art"

    The Incredible Righteousness of lightness

lines 1 and 8 is where the most trouble is. It cost a lot to loose the last few pounds! Best is to find the middle ground or just take what you can handle. I do have some light stuff (27# canoe) but just end up taking more stuff regardless. Still doing the 110# worth of gear in one port. The...

    Canoe/hunt videos

Very nice! I really like the shots at 1.48 and again at 2.28 on part 2. Nice way to capture the moment as you paddle by! "Not a light weight camper" total understatement but you do live in style while tripping, points for you! I am going to have a short trip with everything with, just to see...

More work on the tripping truck

MPI must provide the coverage for the vehicle as they don't allow for private insurance, as the sole insurance provider they need to provide complete coverage. The canoe would be covered under the home insurance plan so two deductibles in total. Best plan is not to roll too many times! I do have...

More work on the tripping truck

I have been told that a pure sine wave inverter is the way to go if you are trying to charge/run electronics etc --- http://gpelectric.com/products/pure-sine-wave-inverters and http://waveinverterreviews.com/ I like the idea of a remote power supply that can be charged with a 12v system. I will...

More work on the tripping truck

You have room for two! Lol Thanks for posting the mods done as I am just starting to put my Xterra SUV together as a trip vehicle. A very basic set up for me but its a start for right now. I hope you don't mind if I steal a few ideas? Do you have a power converter or extra battery in your truck...

    Innegra S & H

A few pounds and more strength is always a great thing! I know I am spoiled with the composite thwarts, handles and end caps on mine and the integrated rails are great. Not a single bit of wood/metal to worry about. The future materials may be better yet, but every pound saved is worth some...

    Donations Update

That's some good news! I should have sent more so you can treat yourself to a beer while on the shoreline! Thanks so much staying with it.

    Innegra S & H

All right, how much lighter would a Keewaydin 15 pack boat be in the Quad Woven Innegra/Carbon and the full carbon tec package in the trim pictured? And how much would they charge? And how quick can they make it! Lol :p
