How many pairs of footwear: in canoe vs. on portage vs. in camp?

Since 2016 I use Palm Gradient boots. I'm a "wetfooter". In combination with merino wool socks my feet stay warm enough; even in Spring. I like the good grip they provide, especially on wet rock. Usually I bring two pairs on multiple day trips. One pair (wet) is used during the day, the other...

    Snow? — Where You Are

Stripperguy, Welcome to the Alpine Touring or Back Country Skiing board (just kidding)! It's a great way to stay in shape and enjoy nature. Thank you! AT or BC, now I know what to call it in English. Yes I ski those mountains in the background. Altough not all of them are "ski-friendly". I...

    Snow? — Where You Are

Glenn, usually that lake freezes along the shore for a few weeks. I never heard that the whole lake was frozen over. What you can see in the bow is water ballast and a dry bag with extra clothes and some other stuff in it.

    Snow? — Where You Are

It's a very mild winter over here in Switzerland. I like snow a lot. I'm usually very much into skitouring (going up the mountains with skins on and ski down) but I haven't felt like going this winter due to the lack of snow. The good thing about it: access to soft water... Pictures taken...

that's me - Michael from Germany

Patrick, I know those mountains pretty good and you are right, the famous Jungfrau Massif to the right and the less known chain of Wetterhorn - Mittelhorn - Rosenhorn to the left of the centre.

    Knot in Paddle

I like it very much! It's perfect for cruising up and down the lake. But I wouldn't take it on a trip into the wilderness because of its thin blade. I didn't know anything about a fable when I bought it... it was on sale, I got it for a third of its original price. If it breaks or gets stolen I...

    Knot in Paddle

I got this paddle about 10 years ago. Since then it gets dipped 1 to 2 times a week, year round. I love it!
