    Red's Tremblay

Always good seeing you as well Red. It was planking that was broken but mostly fixed and we found out that Kim loves the canoe, she took it out yesterday after we left. We had our fair share of pickerel and perch. Perch being the better tasting of the two. I had a great time with the Northern...

    Red's Tremblay

Danged thing keeps logging me out when trying to upload photos. Says it timed out, but that only takes seconds. Oh well.

    Red's Tremblay

Well, this old canoe came back for a visit while we were up at Ear Falls on a fishing vacation. At it's home in Red Lake it suffered from a hail storm last year and needed some loving attention. The canvas was breached in 4 places, planking shattered under those spots. Rather than re-canvas...

    Rain please!

We went from 6 weeks without any rain to deluges which have flooded farmers fields. Even had a severe thunderstorm Wednesday night derail an inter-modal train, approximately 36 containers headed west destroyed. 205 fires, 188 human caused so far. Why? Well, after a long Winter people get back...

    Rain please!

Isn't Alberto tracking towards you Mike? Our rain last week was enough to remove the travel restrictions for now although there ain't much water to float a canoe on.

    Rain please!

Rain rain come our way. The Berens River should be off anyones trip list for this year, it runs through this 25,000 hectare fire.

    Rain please!

It did finally rain last week, a solid day and a half which resulted in more restrictions, like Atikaki now has a travel restriction although it does not include canoes yet. This coming week is temps well above normal. Low 30's C all week. Meanwhile, the upper half of the big lakes are still...

    Photobucket is back!

Paid my money, logged in, found no photos. I wonder if I uploaded from my PB backup folder if they would have all the original addresses and auto-fill the missing photos on here.

They are OUT and they are MEAN

I suppose the upside of 6 weeks without rain would be the total lack of biting insects.

    Most recent tripping kit subtraction?

It looks like this year we have subtracted the canoes.

    Ice Out Predictions

I'm starting to wonder if we are going to make it for the May long weekend. Still well below normal day temps and nights still in the minus double digits. Some places need to melt 40" of ice in less than 5 weeks. Had snow yesterday and a possibility of more next week. I'm all for bringing...

    Identification of canoe???

yes, it just needs some glass repair to re-float it but it is at port 6 and I really wouldn't want to have to portage it up to Wallace Lake. A few years ago Christy was again using it as a table and had a naptha fire on it.
