I made one out of a tomato juice can and coat hangers. My kit fit's inside it including an alcohol stove as a back up. I seldom end up using the backup but the alcohol works nice to start damp twigs! The stove also works well as a smudge pot with the right ingredients. Simple is good!

Good catch YC, Hawk Vittles are dehydrated, not freeze dried. I store mine in the freezer. HV Moroccan stew and Cowboy lasagna are winners too.

I've heard stories, but it wasn't bad the two days I was on it. I does have very specific navigation lanes due to underwater obstacles of a man made lake. That make's it easier to stay away from power boaters.
