On my phone, you just turn off the auto flash feature. With no flash, it just automatically knows to use the night photo feature when it is dark.

Here is a picture I took with my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra a few days ago. It was very dark and I used the night picture feature. Do any of you use this feature on your phones?

What will be the effect of electric vehicles on canoe tripping?

Here is an invoice for a model 3 battery replacement. I envision a lot of EVs being recycled instead of being maintained and driven more than 10ish years. I am not sure how this plays into their overall environmental impact.

What will be the effect of electric vehicles on canoe tripping?

When I go on trips it usually involves going over mountain passes and staying in remote areas. Often, I pull a 5th wheel trailer. For these reasons an EV is only a distant thought for replacing my diesel 1999 F350. I will keep my old truck alive for now. She will likely go over 300K this...

13 Coldest Rivers in the U.S.

The Snake doesn't empty into Puget Sound. It is a tributary of the Columbia River, which empties directly into the Pacific Ocean.

You want to take that tub.....where?

I have a 15 foot Coleman that lives at our vacation house. It cost around 80 bucks. It is used in local ponds and lakes and occasionally the Willapa Bay. It brings back memories of canoes when I was a kid. It seems like Colemans were everywhere back then. A friend had a 17 footer a few years...

    A little different approach

This canoe had been advertised on CL for quite awhile. It would be an interesting project. https://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/spo/d/portland-16-ft-teak-canoe-1970s-pick-up/7614946626.html

    (Finally) starting from scratch.

20+ years ago I worked in a woodshop. I recall intentionally darkening some cherry. I think drain cleaner was used??? Anyway, looking forward to following along. I too have too many irons in the fire, but am interested in building a wood strip canoe.

    Old serviceable canoes

It looks like a Tripper. Sellers descriptions are often inaccurate. My Tripper was listed ad a 17 foot fiberglass Old Town canoe. They were originally called Chipeweyan 17s. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/133564692846970/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post It is...

    Narrowing a Tripper

Interesting experiment. My Tripper wiggles a little too when unloaded. Mine is an early version with only one thwart/yoke. Please let us know how it performs.

    New Member from Washington State

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Stripperguy, There is a lot of variety in central Washington. From natural mountain lakes like Walupt Lake, to small desert lakes formed from seepage from large reservoirs like the Potholes Reservoir. Potholes is not too bad, but it is large and if the wind...
