    New canoe shop

We capstripped the studs to give us room for R20 walls and same in the ceiling. You have a higher ceiling....we did a partial drop ceiling....but yours would probably benefit from a fan to push the heat back down to floor level. Our walls are plywood scraps but we did paint them to keep them...

    Rethinking Firearms

I often take my shotgun in the spring and always in the fall. Sometimes the .22 if its grouse season. It does get to be a pita though to lug them around and if out during the summer I dont bother...that is fishing season. My biggest worry is dogs. God dang I hate people who let their dogs run...

    Rethinking Firearms

I agree with you Canoe about the spray...much handier and a better chance of keeping you in the game. In my 20's it was still the land of rifle racks in the back window out west here and although highly illegal many of us were doing concealed carry. These days even the rednecks play by the...

Nice boats. Esthetics are nice but function is really what matters and those are great designs. Clean em up and enjoy them.

Article: Wood-canvas canoes are tougher than you think

yepp. It can be a very time consuming process. Good therapy but kind of invollved. Especially to do it correctly. I have been putting a Langford back together off and on for about three years now. It is ready for paint this week but life is getting in the way. Things like paddling...lol. Dont...

Yes I have seen it before too Mike...it was not an original idea of mine. But I like the effect.

    Another one lives

Who doesnt love an old chopper gun glass canoe? This is the stuff we grew up with before all the kevlar and cedar strip ones came along. Before we had the money to buy brand name boats. Our first canoes were usually aluminum, maybe a Sportspal or one like this old chopper gun boat that I came...

Epoxy w/ Graphite Powder on Bottom of Wood Canoe + How a Wood/Dacron Canoe is Made

Dacron is a little more fragile than #10 canvas so some sort of abrasion resistance would be good to have. I have no experience with Dacron but a lot with canvas. I dont have much trouble with rips punctures etc using canvas and traditional fillers. A friend here does use epoxy now on some...

    A lightweight "stand-up-able" solo canoe?

I am thinking a Bobs Special might work out for that.

    Grand Laker

Basically a square stern prospector made as a one off by a couple of guys back in the 70's. The Algonquin park moose hauler. This thing is built like a tank 16.5 feet long and 5/16 thick planking. The other boat in the pictures is the beloved Huron, before and after also.
