    Favourite Campsite

My favorite campsite is the one we have set up for the end of the day and night. Later, my memories of the day take in the different scenes of the day and the campsite is one of the big highlights (even if it isn't top notch).

    Something I aspire to

The number one trash items around here are styrofoam bait containers, plastic shopping bags and beverage containers. The best "trash" around here are Patagonia and North Face rain jackets. Yes, really!

    Something I aspire to

Wonderful job, Jim! Thank you, thank you. Let me clarify our situation: We seldom paddle rivers. Our day trips are just on area lakes in west central and northern Minnesota. We have not participated in any designated clean up paddles yet. Keep up the good work everyone! Thanks

    Something I aspire to

Here are some folks doing great work and doing activities they love. As a friend of mine has always said, " the wrong people are doing the cleanup, it should be the criminals that made the mess in the first place." My wife and I come no where near this, but we have averaged a bit more than one...

    Portage yoke neck pad

Thanks I won't get a chance to really field test it until September in the Quetico. The uses for pool noodles are endless it seems. They may have replaced PVC pipe or EMT!?

    Portage yoke neck pad

I thought I would post this in case anyone else might make use of something like this. It is portage yoke pad to cover the neck portion of the portage yoke. The first version of this was just intended to keep the yoke from rubbing on the back of the neck and it worked fine. This version is meant...

    Water, water everywhere ...

We have very good luck with the Katadyn Pocket Filter. With it, we use a Sweetwater Silt Stopper prefilter and Katadyn Carbon post filter. It has been very reliable and provides good tasting water. On the downside, it is relatively heavy and expensive.
