Hello all!
I am in the early stages of planning a trip in Saskatchewan for late August, and I’m looking for any and all info and recommendations that this fine community may be able to provide me with!
I am located in Winnipeg, and have completed a handful of trips in Quetico, 3 or 4 in Nopiming park, as well as a whitewater/river trip on the Manigotagan. So I would consider myself an experienced beginner. I also plan on taking a whitewater course this summer, so that hopefully opens a few more options as far as trip difficulty goes.
I am very unfamiliar with the options in northern Sask, and have found the volume of trip reports overwhelming, so I thought I’d ask for some advice! It’ll be myself and a friend in one canoe, we’re looking for around 6-8 days, I’d love some solitude, and great fishing is always a bonus. Also, we can’t afford a whole heck of a lot, so ease of access without a float plane is definitely huge.
Class I-ii rapids are fine, and we’re more than willing to portage around bigger if need be!
Many thanks!
