Ideas on make of canoe?

Hello, I am in search of the manufacturer of this 17 foot canoe, bought near Huntsville Ontario in 1985. Any help would be appreciated.

It may be home made. Is there a hull identification number below the outside rail on the starboard stern? See https://www.usps.org/national/safety/HIN/HIN.pdf for more about interpreting these. Please post a picture if you find one.

I agrre with Benson. Most strip canoes are home built.

Nice looking canoe regardless of origin. If you cannot find an HIN, I'd assume that it's homemade. (Nothing wrong with that either... especially after 40 years)
