Video of 3 nights at a small lake in Maine

Very nice, nicely filmed and loved the music.

Experimented by watching this while doing my blood pressure monitoring - the video knocked it down 10 points.

YouTube needs more videos like this.

Very nice video trip report and video editing, Robin. Glad there's lots of non-portage canoeing available for us middle-aged folks.

I've never camped a floorless tent . . . well, not since the canvas pup tents in boy scouts in the Middle Ages. Do you have to be very careful where you pitch them to avoid water intrusion in heavy rains?

This tent has a floor, it’s supposed to be “water resistant”. I placed my old Hudson Bay blanket over the floor on my first trip to keep the floor clean. I suppose I’ll find a sheet of plastic to use as a ground sheet.

I had ordered the tent shortly after camping with lowangle Al and seeing his 4 man campfire tent in action. One cool windy evening we were sitting under the front overhead flap with the side panels extended enjoying the warmth of the campfire out front. I was sold on the design. The fact that the tent has a floor and front screen sealed the deal.

As soon as I got home I placed an order with Frost River. They now keep them in stock so my new tent arrived quickly. We had a few nice warm fall days in the forecast so the next day I packed up and camped in the tent for 3 nights. They suggest you hose the tent down with water to tighten up the weave but I didn’t have time for that, and how waterproof that floor would be never crossed my mind.

Ah, I saw the blanket and wrongly assumed there was no floor. It seems like a really nice tent. I'd like to try that type for base camping types of lake trips, and might do so if I lived nearer lots of natural lakes as you do in Maine.
