Just finished a three day solo trip from Long Lake to Tupper Lake via the Racquet River in the Adirondacks. The first day was quite fall like what temperature is not getting out of the 50s! Beautiful!
I retired. My wood and canvas can do last year (sorry Robin) to day paddling. Got tired of carrying that 85 pound beast up and down the portage trails. The Wenonah Encounter is still a large solo canoe, but much lighter than my Peterborough wooden Candace Canoe.
This particular round did have a one and a quarter mile portage which I double carried.
Curious about how many hours a day do you panel when tripping? Not including portages or lunch breaks but actual time on the water?
I find about four hours to be my average.
