Phoenix Full of Herd Dog

Looks like a lovely place to paddle.

Some dogs do the "I Fitz, I Sitz" almost as much as any cat, but they need to turn around 13 billion times just to make sure... :ROFLMAO:

I find the color patterns on that 'yak fun. Looks like one of the more paddleable types of production kayak, too.

Years ago, when our current dog was ready to jump out of the canoe after a beaver, I decided she needed to learn to lay down in the canoe and stay there. It took a while but now she eagerly jumps in and lays down on a piece of yoga mat I cut for her. It gives her a "spot" and it keeps her from slipping around. We've had this arrangement for a half dozen years now and it seems to work. Without all her moving around, it makes for a more pleasant paddling experience.

That's all for now. Take care and until next time...be well.

Yep, he has a yoga mat. It helps a lot, but he’s still a 12 volt doggie. It’s also harder to sit in one position on an angled seat. There’s no real flat spot in the forward space.

Your heeler looks about the same size as mine, mine stays by me behind the thwart. I think the Phoenix is about the same between seat and thwart as my shearwater and adirondack, gives him a little flatter area

Yeah he won’t fit between my legs. Even his sister who is 10 lbs lighter would be cramped. Maybe a chihuahua.
