    What's out West?

If you are coming through the North Cascades, Diablo and Gorge Lakes can be day paddled. Diablo has boat in campsites as well. Ross Lake will tempt, but you really won't have time. Campsites can be difficult to obtain during the busy season, but you may have luck when you are in the area. The...

    Throwback Thursday Photos

This trip has been on my radar for awhile. I have been on a lot of this stretch of river in a jet boat.

New Canoe Enthusiast Ready to Learn and Share!

Welcome! Waldo lake in Oregon is a must see. Ross/Diablo Lakes in the North Cascaes are great as well but as @ppine states, it can be dangerous. I have capsized in a windstorm on Ross. The Yakima from Ellensburg to the Rosa dam is basically a slow float. Lots of tubes and rafts in the summer as...

I use a SPOT Gen 3. Whenever I am canoeing, hiking, motorcycling, I leave my tracking on. She has access to my SPOT account. I figure even if I cant hit the panic button, they will still have an idea where to look for me.

Lol! You need a dually to haul a Coleman! Actually this is an old picture. One of the rear leaf packs failed. I have since replaced the rear leafs and shocks. Good eye. I need to weigh it. It is the 15 foot model. I would estimate 65-70 lbs.

Moved from the Desert to the Sea

We moved in December. I have been busier that a one armed paper hanger. Finally got a short paddle in today. The only canoe I have access to currently is my 15 foot Coleman so I loaded it up and paddled on the lake just down the road. I am looking forward to year round paddling.
