Give me a bit of time, we just got back today.... Lots of pictures... but I need to find a way to put it together in a story...... Maybe using Word?? I don't know...

This year I don't have time to deal with them, so we brought the first one to a butcher shop and mine is going in on Wednesday. still have a lot of work to do on the shop before the snow fly!!
More pictures and the story, yes please! Word works fine, I'm using imugr now, you can paste the pic links into the place in the story you want them to go.

Welcome back Canot. I'm looking forward to hearing all about it. That's beautiful country up there. I'd love to see more. A couple photos of moose stew, moose burgers, moose steaks...sure would be nice too!

Boy that is a Dandy Bull. I dream about canoeing with my longbow in quest of a September Bull. Nice pics. I am excited to see the rest and read your story ... no pressure .

Last picture is a dead salmon most likely a king salmon, one of the longest run recorded, all the way up the Yukon river, up the Teslin river, up Teslin lake, up the Nisutlin river and up the McNeil! probably around 3000km....

Ready for departure. 2 of us are leaving with a little bit of the gear from town, and the third guy is driving 4 hours to a lake to get picked up later so we have the truck close to the take out for when we get off the river... Turned out that my brother in law while waiting for the plane at the lake found a couple to drive the truck to the take out for us!!
In the air!! It was my first real fright in a float plane, Cessna 206.
First meal at our lake camp. We ended up staying there for the first 3 nights!
Outfitter cabine. they landed a guide in there the day after we landed... We were not really happy with that
Using tracking lines with cradles, they work like a charm and we left them there for all the section of moving and ww, you couldn't notice them unless you were in dead flat water like lakes or slow river sections... Best way to line and track a canoe IMO.
Tracking up the river to the head water to see what was up there...

The deepest widest moose trail I ever seen, that thing was at least a foot deep and 20 inches wide.

First moose, BIL(brother in law) shot it at 8 pm on the saturday( we landed on the friday afternoon) just across the lake from camp! We got back to camp at midnight with a the moose in the canoe and in the pitch black night. it was about 900m crossing...
leaving McNeil lake towards Moss lake.river was tight and shallow...
After getting caught in a sweeper that snagged the soft coller( that he manage to grab on the fly and put back in the boat) snagged one of his rubber boot that we lost for ever, mange to fish out a shirt back out of the water, the rack was left on a gravel bar for ease of travel!! He wasn't an happy camper that day!!
Big log jam, we had to do some trimming and move some gravel so the raft wouldn't get beached!!
The water up here is usually quite clear, but on this trip, it was amazingly clear!!
Flat... Flat in a raft isn't that great !!

Fall colours and the storm at Moss lake. we will spend 2 days there and ended up getting the first moose flew out!
Nice camp but I don't like sand, I actually hate sand...
We had few night 5-7 degrees bellow zero Celsius but with the wall tent is was cosy
5.5km to the end of the lake... Not far less you paddle a raft lol

Baking some lasagna from scratch in the Frybake pan on the fire box...
It was soooo good!!!

Now we are moving... A short stretch of the McNeil before entering the super Nisutlin river.
This was a super tight corner that we decided to line the raft around. Me and Pat ran it in the canoe.... Back ferry even!!
Pine flat... that use to be the Flood plane before the river was borne!
Yukon fall colours!!
Camp at the confluents of the McConnel river and the upper Nisutlin just above the 10km section of class III IV rapids...
Now the real stuff begins... The warm up rapid....
And then around the corner it gets quite a bit bigger...
and this one was even bigger...

Cow moose is in the bottom of the grassy patch center left of the picture. we decided to stay the night and see what she would bring us in the morning. After all there is nothing like the real thing calling a bull moose than a real cow moose... I mean I'm not to bad at it, be honest here, not the real thing!! The next morning I got out of the tent first, had a good look around but the fog moved so I went back to bed... We then got up for real and there she was again, so we made breakfast, had coffee, started to create a scenario of what could happen and an hour or so later(10am I shot the bull) I get my head out of my breakfast plate, and there she was, with a set of antlers on her head... We jumped in the canoe, drifted towards him talking to him and him talking back, past him got lower, put in a shot at about 60m, not my best shot, he was quartering towards me, but I kept it in the vital. After the first shot he turned towards the bush, I knew the hit wasn't great, probably liver( no foam out of its nose/mouth) and almost no bleeding from the shot so I took an other shot this time just behind the hump to make him stop in its track. we were back in camp for lunch at around 1:30 pm with a full load of moose in the canoe!!
All loaded up ready to start tracking back up to camp some 800m up stream.
Got a few soakers on the way back to camp...
Meat is all in the raft, but I carried my rack!

That Hellman canoe Slocan saw a lot of rivers over the years, got abused and still going strong. They are the best wilderness ww tripping canoe out there!!

WOW, I LOVED the pics, and the story was awesome! Man that is some big country for sure. Great report! I should be working and find myself ignoring all that should be done so I can look at your photos again and again.
