Stain or ? Over Spar Urethane?

Might be unobtainium based. I might have to get a can myself as I've got a couple of projects that require unobtainium.

Stain or ? Over Spar Urethane?

Best indicator there might be to check the clean-up instructions. Soap & water clean-up = water based.

How to drill canoe lining holes through foam-filled air tanks?

That looks really good Alan. What did you use to hold / seal the pipe-to-canoe union?

How to drill canoe lining holes through foam-filled air tanks?

Not that I'll ever fill my tanks with foam but, if I were to drill one that someone else had filled, I'd do it like Black_Fly did except I'd use a 12" extension on the hole saw. I'd probably try to get a cleaner cut by stopping when the pilot bit came through the far side of the hull & then...

    Missing a paddling year

Perhaps but I still prefer solo and, probably, always will. Hang in there and remember that what cannot be remedied must be endured. Lots of good recommendations above... have you considered building?

    Things you've lost or misplaced on a canoe trip . . .

While I'm far more likely to forget to pack something, I'm usually decent at keeping track of gear in the woods and try to limit my losses to terminal tackle but this past Fall wasn't usual in that regard. Besides lots of jigs lost (mostly to toothy freakin' Pike), I lost a 8x36 Vortex Solo...

    First canoe build

I think that's normal. I keep saying that I'll build when things are slow in the winter but it seems I'm doing epoxy in the summer. Hang in there.

Hauling Two Canoes When Thule Hates You

Heck, for that price difference, I'll meet you in Sault St Marie if you can wait til mid July. That's ridiculous!

    Underwear

It seems to me that, if we get far enough away from civilization, we could dispose of both under and outer wear and just go full-on nudist. Not to worry though, if I ever try it, there will be no selfies. (you're welcome)

    Mad River Monarch

@Brighella, Welcome to the site. The "Guest" designation indicates (I believe) that the poster has, for whatever reason, deleted their account. In this case, the poster that you quoted has not been on the forum for a couple of years. If you have questions regarding outfitting, boats or...

BWCA Bear Proof Food Storage Rules Change

Fair enough. They ARE smart little buggers.

1st paddle (AKA a Paddle from Scrap?)

OK. Now I understand how you did the Steel River loop in 3 days.

BWCA Bear Proof Food Storage Rules Change

Many of the people hanging food do not do it properly. If you hang it like this, the bear can chew the rope all it wants and all he'll eat at your site is rope. I suppose it is possible that one could learn to pull the rope, remove the stick & get supper but I'll bet against it.

1st paddle (AKA a Paddle from Scrap?)

Thanks Alan. I've ordered it and will give it a read before going further. (I replaced the shaper bearings the night before last so I'm hoping to be back on the boat soon any way and that takes priority IMO)

    2-Man Tent Recommendations

I currently have 2 two man tents; a MSR Hubba Hubba that I bought gently used from Yellowcanoe and a Clostnature that I bought new off of Amazon. To be perfectly honest, I haven't noticed much of a difference. I suspect that the MSR will last longer, I have more confidence in it and...
